This type of neglect can be harmful to any relationship. Still, at 16 years old it can severely impact a teen's sense of belonging, especially given this is likely not an isolated incident.
But, these parents left this 16-year-old girl alone on her birthday to study while taking her 13-year-old brother on a ski trip to the mountains. This caused the teen obvious distress throughout the weekend and left her uncle at odds with her parents over the appropriateness of the whole situation.
